This painting was inspired by the coves and inlets along the coast of Cornwall, the colour pallette is very limited violets and yellow, a classic complementary scheme, which I almost always prefer as I believe limitations create a more harmonious painting and encourage exploration and creativity. The title however comes from a book by Wallace Stegner, a classic western author and one of his most famous books.

The painting is 29.5cm high by 34 cm wide, acrylic on wooden ply board, unframed.
