The title came from a line in ‘Self Reliance’ by Henry David Thoreau, which seemed quite fitting for me!

This original painting was pure self expression. I love blue and the energy it seems to evoke, with the textures created by trowelling and scraping, being completely spontaneous, adding drips, removing paint to create little windows into previous layers, scratching and drawing with oil pastel. This painting will add a contemporary feel to any room.
